Davido’s dad, Deji Adeleke secures release of 200 prison inmates in Osun state

The Chairman, Springtime Development Foundation, Dr. Deji Adeleke, has secured the release of about 200 inmates of the Ilesa Prison in Osun State.

The Vice-Chairman of the foundation, Mr. Banji Adesuyi, said this at the Ilesa Prison on Tuesday when the group was donating 700 mattresses and the same number of pillows to the inmates.

Adesuyi said Adeleke became aware that inmates of the prison were sleeping on the bare floor when he went to pay a visit to an embattled chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Diekola Oyedele, who was detained at the prison.

He explained that the foundation paid for the release of inmates, who were incarcerated because they could not pay fines as low as N5,000, stressing that the foundation did not secure the release of any inmate convicted because of crime.

Adesuyi said Adeleke was not prompted to secure the release of the inmates because of political reason but purely on humanitarian ground.

According to him, the foundation will not limit the gesture to Ilesa Prison, stating that it will soon extend the same gesture to Ile-Ife Prison before moving outside the state.

The foundation’s chairman said that the organisation would ensure that inmates were introduced to computer literacy, tailoring and woodwork in order to make them useful members of the society even after completing their jail terms.

Adesuyi said,

“ Dr. Deji Adeleke paid for the release of over 200 inmates last week when he came to visit a prominent politician, who was detained at the prison.
“A woman was detained with her baby because she could not pay a debt of N65,000, he ( Adeleke) paid the debt, the woman was released and he also gave her another N100,000 to start another trade.”
The Managing Director of the foundation, Samuel Oyalabu, said Adeleke’s gesture should spur other Nigerians to do the little they could to alleviate the suffering of the poor.

One of the inmates, Ekene Madunagwu, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, expressed appreciation to Adeleke.

President Donald Trump officially sued for blocking people on Twitter

Seven people have officially sued Donald Trump for blocking them on Twitter. Mr Trump uses the social media forum to praise allies and lambast critics. The lawsuit was filed by the Knight First Amendment Institute, a free speech group at Columbia University.

The seven Twitter users involved claim their accounts were blocked by the president, or his aides, after they replied to his tweets with mocking or critical comments.

The legal complaint argues that by blocking these individuals, Mr Trump has barred them from joining the online conversation.
It calls the move an attempt to “suppress dissent” in a public forum – and a violation of their First Amendment right to free speech.

Blac Chyna back to her old strip club gigs after fight with baby daddy Rob Kardashian

Blac Chyna is back to her old hustle – making strip club appearances for money after she got cut off by her ex-fiance & babydaddy, Rob Kardashian.

On her Instagram page, Blac Chyna announced two gigs she will hosting, one of which is next Monday at the Ace of Diamonds in West Hollywood.

TMZ reports Blac Chyna will be $10k (about N3.6m) for hosting the night.

The club’s also throwing in 3 bottles of rose.
The timing is no coincidence … we’re told Chyna’s the one who pitched the idea to AOD and they were all for it.
If you recall, that’s how she made a huge chunk of her change back in the day, so looks like she’s back to her old party tricks and sending a message she doesn’t need Rob … although she might need him to watch Dream that night.

SA singer found guilty of raping a 16-year-old after his wife helped the victim file a charge against him

South African singer, Kwaito star Sipho Ndlovu, also known as ‘Brickz’, has been found guilty of rape in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court. Judgment was handed down on Friday afternoon following a three-year long court case.

He will remain in custody until sentencing later in July. Ndlovu raped a 16-year-old girl in 2013 at his home in Ruimsig, west of Johannesburg. It’s understood his wife Nqobile Ndlovu assisted the victim in opening the charges against her husband.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Luvuyo Mfaku said, “Mr Ndlovu was convicted of rape. After the conviction, the R50,000 bail that he was released on was revoked, hence he is in custody.” Ndlovu was arrested and charged on 1 November 2014 and had been out on R50,000 bail since.
